WHY THIS LICENSE
==========================================================

Gaia is offered freely and openly because the project's core
premise is that ecological restoration should be the most
financially rational choice available to anyone, anywhere.
That premise is contradicted if the ideas themselves are
locked behind exclusive rights.

CC BY-SA was chosen over a fully unrestricted license (such
as CC0 or MIT) for one reason: the ShareAlike requirement
ensures that anyone who builds on Gaia's framework keeps
their own work open in turn. This is not about controlling
the idea — it is about ensuring the idea cannot be enclosed,
forked into a closed and extractive system, and sold back
to the world under different terms.

You do not need permission to translate, adapt, present,
teach, fork, or build upon any part of this framework.
You only need to credit the source and keep your derivative
work open under the same terms.
